Comments (0) | A cold front from the Gulf of Alaska will move across the Central Coast this weekend, producing unseasonably cool temperatures and large swells.
John Lindsey, meteorologist at Diablo Canyon nuclear power plant, said inland temperatures will drop 25 to 30 degrees on Sunday afternoon with highs in Paso Robles only expected to reach 81 degrees. This compares to the 108-degree temperatures late this week.
The mass of cold air will bring 25 to 38 mile-per-hour winds and swells up to 11 feet beginning Saturday. Nighttime temperatures on Sunday are expected in the high 40s to low 50s.
It will actually feel a lot like early spring, Lindsey said.
Weather temperatures will begin to return to normal on Labor Day. Skies will be clear for the holiday, Lindsey said.
